Founder & Creative Director, Cambodian Travel Immersion
Cambodian Travel Immersion was founded by Sorn Samnang, a Cambodian creative and cultural curator whose journey bridges rural tradition, spiritual discipline, international hospitality, and visual storytelling.
Born in a small riverside village, Samnang grew up within Cambodia’s fishing communities, where life followed the rhythms of nature, patience, and shared responsibility. These early experiences shaped a deep respect for community, landscape, and cultural continuity values that remain at the heart of Cambodian Travel Immersion today.
As a young student, Samnang moved to Siem Reap to pursue his education, spending several formative years living in a Buddhist pagoda. This period instilled discipline, humility, and reflection, influencing his philosophy of slow, meaningful, and respectful travel.
Over the next decade, Samnang developed extensive experience in Cambodia’s hospitality and tourism sectors, working closely with international travelers and overseas tour operators across diverse markets, including Europe and the Americas. His professional background includes hands-on work with guests from Spain, Portugal, Germany, Poland, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Australia, giving him a deep understanding of different travel expectations, cultural sensitivities, and luxury service standards.
His roles spanned reservations, guest experience design, and operational leadership for long-haul markets, allowing him to manage complex itineraries while maintaining a personal, human approach to travel.
During the global pause of the pandemic years, Samnang returned to his creative roots, working professionally in photography and videography. Through the lens, he reconnected with Cambodia not as a destination, but as a living story, layered, intimate, and deeply visual.
In 2022, Cambodian Travel Immersion was born from this convergence of cultural knowledge, international tourism expertise, and creative vision.
Cambodian Travel Immersion is a private cultural and creative travel studio, designed for travelers who value depth over display and understanding over speed.
Each journey is thoughtfully curated, focusing on timing, access, storytelling, and genuine human connection. Guests are invited beyond tourist routes to experience Cambodia’s living culture from ancient temples and spiritual traditions to countryside life, floating communities, and contemporary creative expression.
Photography and visual storytelling are integrated into select journeys as a way of seeing more deeply, encouraging observation, patience, and a stronger connection to place.
As Founder & Creative Director, Samnang personally designs every CTI journey and defines the experience standards that guide the CTI team. While not every journey is led by him directly, every experience reflects the same philosophy: authenticity, responsibility, and quiet luxury.
Cambodian Travel Immersion operates with a strong commitment to ethical and sustainable travel practices. CTI works directly with local families, artisans, monks, and community leaders to ensure that tourism remains respectful, meaningful, and beneficial.
Mass tourism is intentionally avoided. Sacred spaces are approached with care. Cultural exchanges are built on dignity, consent, and long-term relationships.
