7:30 AM: Pickup from your hotel in Siem Reap. Begin the scenic drive to Phnom Kulen National Park, enjoying the lush countryside along the way.
8:00 AM: Arrive at Phnom Kulen and start with a visit to the Reclining Buddha Temple, also known as Preah Ang Thom. This sacred site features a massive reclining Buddha statue carved into a huge sandstone boulder.
10:00 AM: Explore the River of a Thousand Lingas, where you can see intricate carvings of Hindu deities and countless lingas (symbolic representations of the Hindu god Shiva) etched into the riverbed.
11:30 AM: Take a refreshing dip or simply relax at the stunning Kulen Waterfall, a popular spot for both locals and tourists. The waterfall has two tiers, with the lower one providing a picturesque swimming area.
2:00 PM: Visit a rural village nestled in the mountains. Here, you will have the opportunity to meet the villagers, learn about their daily lives, and see traditional crafts and farming practices. This immersive experience offers a unique insight into the local culture and way of life.
Before returning to your hotel, you’ll visit the Cambodia Landmine Museum, where you’ll learn about the country’s ongoing efforts to clear landmines and the impact these efforts have on local communities.
